What’s stopping the money from flowing is never about money

If you’ve been frustrated that money just isn’t flowing to you and you’re trying to work out what the hell is going on, then this is something really important for you to get your head around.

And that is that the thing that’s stopping the money from flowing, is never about the money. 

It is never about the money because money is just a symbol. Money is a symbol of all sorts of things in our society, but most importantly it is a symbol of value and worth. We literally say, “Do you know what she’s worth? Do you know what he’s worth?”

So we’ve managed to link money up to self-worth, our worthiness, our deservingness, our value. 

That is where the problem comes in, because when there are issues around feeling deserving, feeling valuable, feeling worthy of having lots of good things coming to you and being taken care of and knowing that it just keeps flowing and that everything’s totally fine, many people – you probably included – have some stuff going on at the unconscious level that’s just not a match to that.

It often comes back to benign seeming things in early childhood – or maybe not so benign – that created some sort of limiting belief.

Whether it was some decision made that, “Ah, I’m not good enough to have what I made,” or, “I’m not allowed to speak up because others will judge me,” or, “There’s never enough to go around and it’s greedy to ask for more than my share.” These kinds of limiting beliefs often come from seemingly innocent things in early childhood and usually just parents who are ignorant of the impact they’re making with their statements and their actions.

But then what happens is that you take it on and, literally, in your nervous system you start a little daisy chain of a pattern that reinforces that belief, that decision that was made somewhere back early on. Then every time something similar happens in your life and your experience, it reinforces it. It’s like, “See? It’s true! See? There’s something else! See? There’s MORE evidence!” 

And as you know, what you focus on, expands. If you’re starting to program your mind, your reticular activating system, to seeing the world through this lens, you will see more and more and more of it, and you will become more of a vibrational match to it, it’ll become wired deeper into your unconscious and so you will continue drawing more and more experiences that are a perfect match to it into your life. That’s why it’ll just escalate and escalate and escalate, but the thing that started it is often something pretty simple.

This is what we do in hypnotherapy and timeline therapy. It can seem a little bit big and overwhelming like, “Oh, shivers, where does this come from?” However, I just want to let you know that it’s never about the money and you really need to look at, 

“What does the money represent to me and how would having more money make that belief untrue?”

That’s where the problem comes in, right?

If the money comes in, and then that means that it doesn’t match that belief, well then we’ve got a mismatch, we’ve got a problem here. And so that’s why the money doesn’t come. So you do need to be able to change that limiting belief, that deeper unconscious thing that’s sitting there and once you resolve that, then the money can come, because the money is then no longer contrary to that belief that has been taken on.

So, a very simple way to start unravelling all of this is to simply ask, “What would I need to believe for this to keep happening? What is the match, and if I did have more money flowing in, what would that then no longer be a match to? Where would the disconnect be?”

So look at it in both ways, “What is keeping small here a match to? And if I went to the next level, what would that be incongruent with, what would that mean, and what would that no longer mean?”

These kind of deep and powerful questions are how you connect to your unconscious mind and start unravelling some of these threads.

Yes, you can do that in a 1:1 session with myself or another practitioner, but you can actually go a very long way on your own, simply by asking the right kind of questions and working with your unconscious.

The key thing to remember is that it’s never about the money.

It’s about what the money represents.

When you don’t have the money to get to 6-figures, do this!

So you want to get to 6-figures, but you feel like you don’t have the money to put into your business to help you get there. 

So frustrating and so… kind of comical – almost. You want to make more money, but you don’t have the money to do it. 

So what can you do about that?

Well, number one, you don’t need to have money to make money. That’s one of those limiting beliefs that you can just ditch. 

But you may be feeling that right now in your business – because you feel like you can’t possibly take your business to 6-figures unless you can afford to pay someone to support you or rebuild your website or pay for a new tool that allows you to leverage your time. Something like that. There’s some investment you feel you need to make that will allow you to grow, and that’s totally a part of doing business.

So here’s the secret to getting past that and to solving that perceived problem:

Most women in business that I see, they perceive it to be a case of, “I want to get from here to there. So I need to build a staircase.” 

So what they do is they make a list of all the things they need to build the staircase, you know, “I need the timber, the screws, the nails, the tools, maybe the people who actually build the staircase so that it doesn’t collapse on me.” 

They make that big list, and then they look at their current resources and they think, “Well I don’t have any of those things, or very few of those things, so I guess I can’t build the staircase… and I can’t reach that next level.”

So I ask you to just stop for a moment and step back and think about it differently, because we’re not building an actual physical staircase here, we’re building expansion in your business. That means that you don’t need to build the entire staircase in one hit to reach that next level of income, in fact all you need to be able to do is build the next step.

There are many, many ways that you can find the resources to just build that next step.

I’ll give you a couple of practical pointers with this:

Number one, you’ve established that you need this staircase and you already know all the things that are required to make it happen. Make sure you list them out really carefully, and then get really, really clear on which is your next step, and which one is the one after that. So not just knowing that this is all the things I need to reach the top, but what is it exactly that I need to build my next step. 

What is my next step? Then: What do I need to build it? 

You’ll find that that’s just a little baby step. You can break it down into really tiny little baby steps that are very achievable for you, and then if that requires funding, then all you need to do is look at where you’re currently spending money in your business, and re-allocate some of that money so that this step can be built.

So you might decide that this week you are going to distribute your newsletter yourself and your VA takes a week off, and you’re going to put that money into something else that helps you build this next step. Maybe you’ll get her to do a different job without increasing her hours. There are lots of creative ways you can re-allocate the money you’re already spending in your business.

Or you may decide that you’re going to raise these funds. 

So you may have a special offer, you may email your existing clients and say, “Hey, if you want to buy ahead, I’ve got a special package for you,” something like that, that helps you get a little bit of an influx of money just for this one step.

But I do really want to urge you to keep that very small, because the last thing I want you to do, is have some massive sale, be inundated, get the money in, but then be so bogged down in delivering those services that you don’t actually have any time to build that step, and I do see that happen a lot. 

Then you think, “Well I need to pay even more people to help me build the staircase because I can’t even hammer a nail in myself, I’m too busy.” At the same time, you’re totally getting worn out and you don’t even have time to think about building the staircase, or direct how that next step should be built and so it just never happens.
That’s something to be really mindful of. 

So, break it down into just, “Exactly what do I need to build this next step” and keep it there. It’s kind of the opposite to how most people think. They think, “Go build the whole staircase. I need all the materials, all the resources, ready to go and I’m doing it,” and I really urge you to do the OPPOSITE to that because it will be much more sustainable and easy for you. It will also stop you from burning yourself out and then unconsciously sabotaging yourself, because ‘business is way too much work’, right? 

You know what I’m talking about! 😊

What is an upper limit in your business anyway?

What is an upper limit in your business anyway?

If you’ve read Gay Hendricks’ book, The Big Leap, then you’d be familiar with the term “upper limit,” because he discusses it quite a bit in that book. It’s banded around a lot between women in business – particularly in the online entrepreneurial space.

You know, “Aw, I’ve hit an upper limit. Ugh, that’s my upper limit.”

So let’s talk about that. 

What is an “upper limit” in your business, anyway?

In the book where Gay Hendricks discusses the upper limits, what he’s actually referring to is not specific to business. He’s referring to how much “goodness,” or joy, or “things going well,” you’re currently able to allow yourself because it feels like your normal, and anything beyond that starts to make you uncomfortable, because things are suddenly not normal. So your biology goes on alert and says, “Ooh, there’s something out of wack here. This is unexpected. We’d better be on the lookout, because there must be trouble up ahead,” when there’s an alert of “something’s not quite within the normal known parameters”, then you go onto alert and you unconsciously do something to restore order, to restore the status quo, to restore the normal way of things.

He uses examples like: Everything’s going really well in business and life, you’re cruising along, and things are just getting almost too good to be true… see where that comes from? Things are getting almost too good to be true and so then suddenly you have this massive argument with your partner that comes totally out of nowhere. 

That’s that “restoring order” thing. You unconsciously pick a way to have an argument and that kind of brings the level of happiness and joy back to its normal standard average level.

So when it comes to your business, we usually talk about how well your business is performing in this upper limit conversation. We talk about how much you’re earning, what your gross income is, how much profit you’re making, all those kinds of things.

It’s the same thing, really. It’s the amount of ABUNDANCE you are currently comfortable with, and you’re used to. The edge of that is your upper limit.

The thing to recognize is that this is not about, “I’m growing and expanding and suddenly, BANG, I’ve hit my head on this upper limit and where did that come from?” 

What it means is you’ve grown and expanded faster than you’ve vibrationally kept up with.

Let me explain that a little bit deeper.

When I say you need to vibrationally keep up with it, you actually need to vibrationally be ahead of it a little bit. What I mean, is that you need to do the work, the inner work, that allows you to feel really comfortable and to actually feel that level of abundance BEFORE you perceive it and BEFORE you receive it on the physical level. 

So you need to already feel that amount of abundance on the inside, and then when it shows up for you in your external world, it’s a match and there is no upper limit. 

It is within the realm of your new normal.

So you need to do that vibrational work and that growing and expanding in your own feelings of abundance, in how much abundance is normal and natural and how much you perceive, and see, and allow yourself to have and feel as natural and normal, and you’re absolutely worthy and deserving of. You need to get all of that work done, because then as you do the practical actions that match that and your business starts to grow and your income continues to grow and multiply and expand, it’s all a match and there is no upper limit.

You don’t ever, ever, ever need to hit an upper limit in business, as long as you put the vibrationally work first, and you don’t try to outgrow your current comfort zone. Else it will always try to knock you back down and retain the status quo.

So that is what an upper limit in business is.

I just want you to really, really remember that there is no need for them, whatsoever. 

It is NOT a rite of passage. It is not something to be proud of and brag to your friends about. It is not normal or natural, in fact it’s telling you there’s a problem. Just as when there’s pain in your body, it’s letting you know there’s a problem and there’s something you need to address, this is a signal. An upper limit is a signal that you have not kept up vibrationally with where you’re trying to take your reality to and so you’re bouncing off the edge. 

It’s as simple as that.

How to smash through an income plateau

Do you want to know how to smash through an income plateau in your business? That’s what we’re about to talk about, right now!

So I’m going to give you an analogy: imagine that you are an Olympic athlete and you know that you want to beat the world record. So what are going to do? Are you going to show up at the Olympic games and just run your hardest and hope for the best? 

No. You’re going to train, right? 

You’re going to train really hard and make sure that you have a huge, huge advantage so when you get there, because you’re ALREADY that world record holder. You are already the person who can totally master that time, not somebody who’s going to attempt it because it’s a stretch for them, no no no. Your physiology, your muscles, your aerobic system, your mind, everything will already be at that level

It has to be, because that’s how you get to show up and just do it. Whereas if you show up and you’re not ready, and you’re not mentally or physically ready to break that barrier then you won’t be able to achieve it.

So this is no different. You need to think about, “I need a big run up. I don’t want to get to an income plateau or income barrier and get out my pickaxe and start smashing away at it.” No, no, no, you want to have such a huge run up and so much power and already be a match to what’s on the other side of it that when you cross it, it’s no big deal. That’s what you want it to be like!

So we talk about smashing through barriers and all of that, but that’s not really how it works because you have to do the work in advance and prepare, and then you can effortlessly cross the barrier…. because the barrier isn’t there for you anymore.

 

When you translate that to doing the work in your business, vibrationally, practically, at the unconscious level – all those points on the Magnetic Money Trifecta that allow you to attract the money, keep the money, and help the money grow and multiply – you need to get all of that in place before you worry about crossing the income threshold that you’re perceiving, because there is no threshold, it’s just the limit of what you’re currently capable of. 

So you need to go into training, and not worry about the income threshold because that’ll take care of itself as long as you train and become a vibrational match to the version of you on the other side.

As soon as you clear all the unconscious blocks and limiting beliefs that are not a match to the YOU on the other side of it…. as soon as you get all your practical money systems and everything in place that is perfectly ready and a match to the you on the other side of that threshold…. 

And the moment you do that, that threshold disintegrates, dissolves, and disappears and you go, “Yeah okay, this is me,” and it’s no longer a big deal because it IS you and it’s a perfect natural match and it can be no other way.

So that is how you smash through an income plateau: you do the training, you make sure you are perfectly prepared and already that world record-holding athlete on the other side of that perceived plateau, and then there is no more plateau.

It’s about doing the training in advance, and getting a massive run-up so that you kind of leap over it and it’s fun and joyful and very second nature.

The 3 top reasons your business feels stuck

The 3 top reasons your business feels stuck

Let’s talk about the top 3 reasons you’re likely keeping yourself stuck in your business.

I talk to a lot of – women and lots of them are my students – who are on 5-figures and want to crack the 6-figure income ceiling but can’t quite manage to get past that imaginary invisible threshold. 

Then I also have quite a few students who are on 6-figures, multiple 6-figures even, and they’re looking to go really big, like maybe 7-figures as their next goal, but still they feel like they’re running in quicksand.

The interesting thing with this work is that it honestly doesn’t matter what level you’re at, it’s the same things, just at a new level. 

When you’re moving up the spiral, that Magnetic Money Trifecta of needing to continue to attract the money by being a vibrational match, keeping the money in your experience by making sure you’re clearing out the limiting beliefs and money blocks that had it bouncing off, and at the same time allowing your money to grow and multiply by having some really good practical systems in place, that does not change.

It’s simply the same thing at a higher level and a higher level. 

So the flavours of it change a little bit, and what you’re actually doing might shift a little bit, and the consistency and the dedication and the level at which you’re doing it will definitely change, but what you have to DO stays the same.

Wherever you’re at, just get better at it. It’s as simple as that.

So let’s talk about what those top 3 reasons are that you’re probably keeping yourself stuck in your business:

The number 1 reason I see is that women who are feeling stuck in their business and whose income doesn’t seem to be growing as they want it to, are busy focusing on ‘The Gap’. 

They’re busy focusing on, “Are we there yet? Why isn’t it here yet? But I’m doing all the stuff… show me the money, Universe!” 

They’re focusing on the gap between where they are, and where they want to go. 

When you’re focused on the gap, your vibration is doing is lining up with, “It’s missing. It’s not here.” And when that’s what you’re a vibrational match to, then you haven’t nailed that first cornerstone of the Magnetic Money Trifecta because vibrationally, you’ve aligned yourself with, “It’s not here,” and Law of Attraction will go, “Okay. If you say so.” 

It doesn’t judge and it doesn’t overrule you, it just delivers exactly what you are a vibrational match to. 

So, focusing on the gap is the number 1 reason that women are keeping themselves stuck in their business… and men too, but we’re talking women here because we’re just a little bit of a different creature.

Now, the second top reason that I see women getting stuck at the same income level in their business  – or just managing to inch their way up incrementally rather than being able to take bigger and easier leaps and bounds – is that there is something in it for them in staying stuck at the lower level.

We call that a secondary gain. So you need to have a look at, “What’s in it for me by not growing to that next income level? Maybe I say I want a 6-figure business, or I say I want a 7-figure business, and I do want it… but part of me is going, oh no, if we get there, then it means X, Y, Z and we don’t want that.”

So there is a perceived benefit in staying at the current level, and you really need to dig deep and be totally honest with yourself in figuring out what that is, and then making sure that you can get that same need met at the higher income level.

That’s the key.

The moment your unconscious recognizes that, “Hey, yeah we can totally do that AND earn more money,” you’re away, you’re released, the shackles will drop off.

So that’s the second reason.

Now, the third top reason why you’re probably keeping yourself stuck in your business is that you’re simply not consistently enough on your abundance vibration. 

You’re simply not holding that abundance vibration frequency enough. You haven’t done it often enough to make it your new normal, to really become that person at the next level.

You’re throwing some stuff at it, and you’re doing a few things and you’re feeling pretty good, but largely (and remember that 95-98% of what’s going on for you is totally unconscious so it’s not your fault), you are still the same old lower-income-level YOU. 

It really takes a very consistent effort on your part to uplevel that vibration so that you are that MOST of the time, so you can rewire your unconscious programming, rewire your mind, get your body used to this new set of chemistry that is the new you, and THEN you become it. 

You can only do that by immersing yourself deeply enough, sticking with it long enough, that it becomes the new you. 

It’s not just something you do in an effort to jump up and catch the ring – you’re actually GROWING TALLER so that the ring is now totally within your reach. 

Does that make sense? I think that’s a really good analogy.

So until now, you’ve been doing little things to jump up and reach the ring that is your income goal, but what you actually need to do is grow taller so that it’s always within your reach. Interesting stuff, right?

So they are the top 3 reasons you’re likely keeping yourself stuck – actually it could be a mix of all.. just letting you know quietly – but that’s okay because now you are aware.

Who’s getting in the way of your 6-figure business?

Who’s getting in the way of your 6-figure business?

Do you feel like other people are getting in the way of your 6-figure business? 

Maybe your partner’s not very supportive, or maybe you’ve got family who keep doubting everything you do and keep telling you all the bad news of all the people that have gone bust before you – who dared to venture into business, or maybe you’re not feeling supported by your assistant and the other people you’re paying to help you reach that 6-figure income.

It’s frustrating, it’s demoralizing, and it’s just argh! 

Now, as much as it is all of that, I invite you to go a level higher, because that’s what we’re all about here. You are the creator of your world. You are the creator of your life. Everything that is happening on the outside of you – you know, even though you may momentarily choose to forget so you can get grumpy about it – those things on the outside of you are actually a reflection of what’s going on inside of you. 

You bring your filter, your beliefs, your perceptions, and your interpretation of everything that’s happening to every situation.

So, the way you perceive or see a situation will be different to the way I see it and perceive it and to the way somebody else sees it and perceives it. 

What’s showing up for you in your experience is also a direct and perfect match to your active vibration. So if you’ve got doubts, fears, worries, concerns, or feelings of not being supported going on within you and those are active vibrations, guess what you’ll be attracting? Guess what will keep showing up for you? That’s right, all the people who so kindly play that role and show you what is going on within you… so that you can transform it. 

It’s not so much a frustration as it is an INVITATION.

So when you feel yourself being frustrated by those things and thinking, “Ah! All this on the outside of me is getting in my way,” remember it’s actually just a reflection of what’s going on internally for you, and so it is actually an invitation for you to shift what’s going on within you. For you to look at, “Okay, where do I have fears, doubts, worries, concerns? Where do I not feel supported and so I keep attracting people who confirm that for me, and how can I shift those things?”

That is the work for you. 

It’s really quite miraculous how when you shift your point of view, your attitude, your vibration internally, and bring a different perception to a situation, people on the outside of you seem to miraculously change. 

I’ve seen this in my own life. In my personal relationships with even my own mother, where once I shifted my perception she literally changed, and it’s not that she LITERALLY changed, so much as that I literally started seeing her differently. I started seeing her from the angle of, “Hey she actually is a lot of fun, and she has lots of cool things to offer and she’s kind of quirky” and all of this, rather than, “Oh my God, she just shits all over everything I do,” which is how it used to be. I changed my perception and started seeing a different side of her. When I was no longer triggered by the offhanded remarks she would make and so on, it no longer bothered me.

I’ve seen this with my students as well, where they might have a partner who’s really pushing their buttons when it comes to their business, but what it’s actually doing is it’s just showing them there’s a wound there and they’re pressing on it, and the moment you heal the wound… it’s nothing, it’s totally different and it transforms and heals entire relationships.

So, who’s getting in the way of your 6-figure business? 

No one but you, babycakes, and when it seems like other people are getting in the way, that’s an invitation for you to create some really beautiful and transformative shifts.

So, look within. Where is it a match? Where am I feeling that way? What belief of mine is this confirming, and work on changing that. You have 100% power.
